Recommended dosage
Take 1 Supreme capsule per day, preferably before or during your evening meal. Swallow the capsule with a sip of water or another sugar-free drink. If you experience any difficulties taking the Supreme capsules, you can find practical tips under the ‘Storage and Use’ section in the ‘Advice’ menu on Elan’s website to help make the process easier. Do not exceed the recommended dosage. Use only as advised by your healthcare provider. If you are taking medication, be sure to read the package leaflets carefully. In case of overdose, consult your doctor.
If you accidentally forget to take your Supreme capsule one day, it is not a big issue as long as it doesn’t happen too often. Simply continue taking your Supreme capsules as usual the next day, without needing to make up for the missed dose or take an extra capsule.
Important
If you are also taking Calcium Vital tablets or Calcium Chew chewable tablets, take them at a different time from the Supreme capsule. There should be at least 2 hours between taking the Calcium Vital or Calcium Chew tablet and the Supreme capsule to give your body enough time to properly absorb the iron.

Elan has developed the Calcium Vital tablets specifically for people who have undergone weight loss surgery to help meet your daily calcium needs. Calcium Vital contains calcium citrate, a form of calcium that is well absorbed by your body. Additionally, Vitamin D3 has been added to the Calcium Vital tablets, as it enhances calcium absorption in your bones. Calcium and Vitamin D3 contribute to the maintenance of strong bones and teeth.
The required amount of calcium depends on your surgery. Based on the internationally recognized guidelines from scientific associations (ASMBS and IFSO), we recommend taking at least 1,200 – 1,500 mg per day. It’s also important to take no more than 500 mg of calcium at a time, to allow your body the opportunity and time to absorb the calcium. For the best advice after your surgery and tailored to your personal situation, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider.
