Dosage advice
Take 1 Compass capsule per day, preferably before or during your evening meal. Swallow the capsule with a sip of water or another sugar-free drink. Do not exceed the recommended dosage. Use only as advised by your healthcare provider. If you are taking medication, please read the leaflets carefully. In case of overdose, consult your doctor.
If you accidentally forget to take your Compass capsule one day, it’s not a big issue as long as it doesn’t happen too often. Simply continue taking your Compass capsules as usual the next day, without needing to make up for the missed dose or take an extra capsule.
Important
If you are also using the Calcium Vital tablets or the Calcium Chew tablets, take them at a different time to the Compass capsule. There should be a minimum of 2 hours between taking the Calcium Vital or Calcium Chew tablets and the Compass capsule to give your body enough time to properly absorb the iron.

Elan has developed the Calcium Vital tablets specifically for people who have undergone weight loss surgery to help meet your daily calcium needs. Calcium Vital contains calcium citrate, a form of calcium that is well absorbed by your body. Additionally, Vitamin D3 has been added to the Calcium Vital tablets, as it enhances calcium absorption in your bones. Calcium and Vitamin D3 contribute to the maintenance of strong bones and teeth.
The required amount of calcium depends on your surgery. Based on the internationally recognized guidelines from scientific associations (ASMBS and IFSO), we recommend taking at least 1,200 – 1,500 mg per day. It’s also important to take no more than 500 mg of calcium at a time, to allow your body the opportunity and time to absorb the calcium.
