The Compass chewable tablets have been specially developed for individuals who have undergone a gastric bypass. The Compass chewable tablets ensure that you still receive your daily vitamins and minerals as a supplement to your diet following your gastric bypass.

Elan’s Compass chewable tablets are a high-quality food supplement designed to meet your daily needs for vitamins and minerals. The dosage of the Compass chewable tablets is based on the most recent scientific literature to provide as accurate a dosage as possible for your daily requirements, ensuring perfect individual adjustment. The ingredients in the Compass chewable tablets are, where possible, natural and always easily absorbed by your body. The Compass chewable tablets come with a fresh and delicious strawberry flavour.

The Ferro Vital tablets are a necessary complement to the Compass chewable tablets to meet your daily iron needs. To maintain the taste of the Compass chewable tablets, iron is not included in the chewable tablets themselves, which is why you must take 1 Compass chewable tablet and 1 Ferro Vital tablet daily. Given this, Ferro Vital is always supplied free with every order of Compass chewable tablets:

Recommended dosage

Take 1 Compass chewable tablet per day and 1 Ferro Vital iron tablet every day, preferably before or during your evening meal. The strawberry-flavoured chewable vitamin can be taken at the same time as your Ferro Vital iron tablet. Ferro Vital iron tablets are supplied free with every order of Compass chewable tablets. Use only as advised by your healthcare provider. If you are taking medication, be sure to read the package inserts carefully. In case of overdose, consult your doctor.

If you accidentally forget to take your Compass chewable tablet and/or your Ferro Vital tablet one day, it is not a big issue as long as it doesn’t happen too often. Simply continue taking your Compass chewable tablets and/or Ferro Vital tablets as usual the next day, without needing to make up for the missed dose or take extra tablets.

Important

If you are also taking the Calcium Vital tablets or Calcium Chew chewable tablets, make sure to take them at a different time to the Compass chewable tablet and your Ferro Vital tablet. There should be at least 2 hours between taking the Calcium Vital or Calcium Chew chewable tablets and your Compass chewable tablet and Ferro Vital tablet, to give your body enough time to absorb the iron properly.

Calcium Chew chewable tablets

After your weight loss surgery, you will also absorb less calcium, and your body truly cannot do without it! Calcium is an essential nutrient that helps maintain strong bones and teeth and contributes to the normal functioning of your muscles. Elan has developed the Calcium Chew chewable tablets specifically for people who have undergone weight loss surgery to help meet your daily calcium needs. Calcium Chew contains calcium citrate, a form of calcium that is well absorbed by your body. Additionally, Vitamin D3 has been added to the Calcium Chew chewable tablets, as it enhances calcium absorption in your bones. Calcium and Vitamin D3 contribute to the maintenance of strong bones and teeth.

The required amount of calcium depends on your surgery. Based on the internationally recognized guidelines from scientific associations (ASMBS and IFSO), we recommend taking at least 1,200 – 1,500 mg of calcium per day. It’s also important to take no more than 500 mg of calcium at a time, to allow your body the opportunity and time to absorb the calcium. For the best advice after your surgery and tailored to your personal situation, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider.

Calcium is not included in Elan’s WLS products (Compass, Believe, and Supreme products) because calcium inhibits iron absorption.
